Pocket Theology

Overview

NWTP is a partnership between New Wine, Westminster Theological Centre and local churches.

The following will give you a brief overview:

What: It is an exciting and pioneering venture linking New Wine, Westminster Theological Centre and the local church. Our vision is to train a new generation of disciples, leaders, evangelists and church planters in Kingdom ministry and mission. The University-accredited course will combine practical and formational training with Bible-based theology delivered in the context of New Wine values.

Where: Most of the time students will attend the course as part of a worshipping and learning community based in local ‘Hubs’ scattered across the UK. A Hub is made up of one or more churches hosting the teaching and providing placements for student interns. Hubs are currently running in:

Central London (at St Mary's, Bryanston Square)
Gloucestershire (at Trinity Cheltenham)
Hampshire (at Christ Church, Winchester)

More Hubs are in the process of being established to start in September 2010 including:

East Anglia (at Fountain of Life, Ashill)
Guernsey
Stockholm

Who: It's for Christians from any walk of life seeking a confident grasp of the biblical worldview and a clear foundational understanding of biblical, historical and doctrinal character of the call to the life of service, leadership and mission.  It's for churches interested in the local delivery of training to a group of students who will contribute energy, passion and wisdom to church life.

When: Courses run for a year and start every September.  Two courses are available:

• Part-time undergraduate certificate in Kingdom Theology (leading to a BA) (certificate takes two years)
• Part-time graduate certificate in Kingdom Theology (leading to a MA) (certificate takes two years)

Why: Church history suggests that significant movements of God are stimulated by the combination of theological content, ministry and mission. The aim of the NWTP is to invest time and energy in training that equips the whole Body of Christ to see Jesus' kingdom grow.
