New Manchester Hub, General Update and Points for Prayer

Posted by jo in Untagged

WTC is very excited to announce that Manchester will be joining the line up of brand new Hubs for September 2010! Manchester’s new Hub Director will be Phil Rawlings with the Hub being based at Emmanuel Church, Didsbury.
Manchester will be joining Guernsey, East Anglia and Stockholm as new Hubs for the next academic year, we are so excited to see all that God is going to do through both the new and existing Hubs.
Thank you for all your prayers concerning the Kingdom Theology Open Days. We are really pleased at how they went and are very happy with the connections that were established both within Hub churches and with potential students. We will be having one final Kingdom Theology Day in Manchester on the 26th June, so if you know of people that might be interested in joining a Hub in this area please let them know.

WTC hosted a drinks reception to promote the New Wine Training Partnership at the New Wine Leaders conference last week. Good connections were made and some of our faculty had the chance to speak at various seminars throughout the three-day event.
For Prayer:

- Please continue to pray for the new and existing Hubs for a good number of students to be based at each of them, and for the operational planning to go smoothly for the new academic year.

- Please continue to pray as the discussions continue toward re-establishing the ordination track for WTC students.

- We would appreciate your prayers as we manoeuvre through all that is involved with Immigration policies etc for our Swedish students and overseas faculty members for our biannual residential’s.

- Finally, please pray for the accreditation process WTC are going through with the University.

Update and points for prayer

Posted by jo in Untagged

We have recently returned from our second residential teaching week where we saw God move powerfully. It was really encouraging to have both returning faculty members and visiting lecturer's teach and watching the impact it had on the student's lives. Everyone seems to be settling into the rhythm of study and we have been greatly encouraged by seeing the students in each hub begin to form friendships and help each other over any hurdles that may be faced in a new learning environment.

It has also been an exciting season with the planning of new hubs. We had successful visits to Stockholm and Guernsey where relationships and connections were forged. We are happy to report that they are now both confirmed as new hub locations alongside Norfolk for September 2010! It is great to have these new hubs on board and we can't wait to see all that God will do in each location.
Currently we are in the process of hosting Kingdom Theology Taster Days at each of the hub locations. The taster days give an opportunity for people to gain a greater understanding of what is involved in studying with WTC and decide whether it is something they would like to pursue.
For Prayer:

- Please continue to pray for the new and existing hubs as the planning stage for the new academic year gets underway.

- Please continue to pray as the discussions continue toward re-establishing the ordination track for WTC students

- We would really value your prayers for the Kingdom Theology Days as these are key times to connect with potential students and various church leaders.

Thank you so much, we really appreciate you upholding the team in prayer through this time!

Second residential teaching week

Posted by jo in Untagged

This week the NWTP students gathered together for the second time this academic year for their residential teaching week.  Right from the start there was a lovely sense of a community coming together, and of God with us.  Students rediscovered old friends from other Hubs, and mealtimes and evenings were filled with lively discussion about all that was being learned.  During the week, students studied Mission, Old Testament, New Testament and Leadership & Ministry.  This video shows the students talking about the course so far.

Snowy Stockholm

Posted by jo in Untagged

During our visit to Stockholm to discuss setting up the Hub there, over 50cm of snow fell in 2 days.  We had a lot of fun sliding around, and also had to dig ourselves out of various locations!  Here is Crispin in action clearing the drive so that we could get the car out.

Kingdom Theology Day in Stockholm

Posted by jo in Untagged

Crispin Fletcher-Louis, Chris Pemberton, Bob Ekblad and Jo Pestell are in Sweden for 2 days visiting Stockholm to look at the possibility of setting up a Hub there for September 2010.  After a good meeting with local church leaders on Friday night, today we have been running a Kingdom Theology day for people interested in the course.  Over 50 people came and there was a strong sense of God's presence with us as we studied Mark's Gospel, prayed, worshiped and shared testimony of God at work.

John Coles talks about his visit to the London Hub

Posted by jo in Untagged

John Coles visited the London Hub of the New Wine Training Partnership last night to see first hand how the students are getting on and to sit in on some of the teaching.  I asked him what his first impressions were and about the implications of this model of training for the local church.
